BHOJPUR: The fourth Bhojpur Trail Race is being organised in Bhojpur district on February 16.

The race — being organised in honour of trail runner Mira Rai, who specialises in Ultra distance mountain races — will begin from Bhojpur to Sano Dumma and the runners would then trace back the same route concluding the race at Bhojpur where it would begin.

According to Priti Khatri, manager of Nepal Trail Race, 300 athletes from Nepal will participate in the trail race along with the athletes from eight countries including UK, Singapore, France, Hong Kong.

The fourth trail race is being organised with the aim to promote the race in international level and attracting international athlete to the country, Rimachung Sports Education Academy chair Pawihang Rai said while lamenting the demolition of the trail route during the construction of motorable roads making organising trail race more difficult.

The Rimachung Sports Education Academy is planning to organise three races — Sky Race, Long Ultra, trail — every year, informed chair Rai.

The participation of international athletes in the trail race being organised in the district was a great fortune for the Bhojpur, Saroj Basnet of Sports Development Committee, Bhojpur said.
