Subedi, Bajracharya enter semi-finals

Aadit Subedi and Samyak Bajracharya entered the semi-finals of the Kesha Group-ANLTA Asian Junior Ranking Tour U-14 Circuit-I Tournament here at the Tennis Complex today.

In boys’ singles quarter-finals, Subedi edged past Vatsal Srivastav of India 6-0, 6-4, while Bajracharya recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win against Indian opponent Aryaman Mehta.

Sharsha Chand went down 7-5, 6-3 against India’s Amitoj Singh Sachdeva and Arnav Pathange made it to the last four beating fellow Indian player Ambitious Goldsmith 6-0, 6-0.

In girls’ singles category, Ira Mehernissa Rawat beat Priyanka Chaudhary 6-0, 6-0 in all-Nepal match and Prerana Koirala surpassed Tanisha Pranjal of India 6-1, 6-2 to take berths in the semi-finals. Similarly, Rayana Shah lost to Lakshanya Vishwanath of India 6-2, 6-1 and Abhilasha Bista suffered a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against India’s Shambhavi Tiwari.

In boys’ doubles, the pair of Saharsha Chand and Aadit Subedi beat Indian duo Ambitious Goldsmith and Aryaman Mehta 7-6, 6-1 to enter the final. They will face Indian pair of Arnav Pathange and Amitoj Singh Sachdeva, who registered a 6-0, 6-3 win over their team mates Abhijeet Srivastava and Vatsal Srivastava.

Nepal’s Abhilasha Bista and Ira Mehernissa Rawat faced a 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 defeat against Indian pair of Tani
