ACC Under-15 Cup schedule released
Kuala Lumpur, April 13:
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) today released the fixtures of the ACC U-15 Cup 2006 (Elite Group) to be held in Kuala Lumpur from May 26 to June 8. The participating eight countries are divided into two groups.
Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore are in Group A, while Afghanistan, Bahrain, Kuwait and UAE are in Group B. For the first time, the competition will consist of two-day matches. The quarter-finalists of the ACC U-15 tournament — won by Nepal — played in the UAE in April 2005 were eligible for this event.
Nepal will open its campaign with a match against Malaysia on May 26-27, followed by Hong Kong (May 29-30) and Singapore (June 1-2).
The bottom two teams will be demoted to the Plate Division, which will be played later in December in one-day format in Thailand.
All other members except those participating in the Elite Division are eligible to participate in this tournament.
Bhutan, Brunei, China, Iran, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Thailand are the team in Plate Division. The top two teams of this tournament will be promoted to participate in the Elite Division of the next U-15 Tournament.
