Nepal APF Club and Lumbini Province registered victories in the Prime Minister Cup Women's National Cricket Tournament here at the Janata Cricket Park today.

APF defeated Gandaki Province by seven wickets. Batting first, Gandaki posted 51-7 in their allotted 20 overs before the departmental team reached 52-3 with 68 balls to spare. Skipper Shristi Jaisi (14) was the lone Gandaki batter who scored in double figures.

Player-of-the-match Suman Bist was the pick of the APF bowlers taking 3-6 from four overs, while Nary Thapa, Sushma Shrestha, Sita Rana Magar and Rajmati Airee grabbed one wicket each.

In reply, APF lost opener Jyoti Pandey (eight), Indu Barma (naught) and Sarita Magar (naught) in the space of five balls after Shristi Jaisi ran riot in the fourth over to be reduced to 19-3. Skipper Sita Rana Magar and Roma Thapa took the team home without further loss adding 33 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket.

Rana Magar remained unbeaten on 22-ball 19 hitting two fours, while Thapa scored run-a-ball 14 not out with the help of two boundaries. Jaisi returned with 3-19 from four overs.

In another match, Lumbini hammered Karnali Province by 98 runs. Batting first, Lumbini amassed 147-5 in their allotted 20 overs before packing Karnali for a paltry 49 runs.

Lumbini openers Laxmi Chaudhary and Ashma Pulami Magar put up 71 runs in 8.3 overs, thanks to massive extra runs through wide balls from Karnali bowlers. Chaudhary top scored with 33 off 32 balls that included five boundaries, while Pulami Magar contributed 14. Saraswati Pun hit three boundaries in her 25-ball 30 not out, while Ranju Sherpa scored 10.

Yamuna Tharu and Bina Thapa took two wickets each for Karnali, while Rama Budhathoki grabbed one. Karnali bowlers conceded 49 runs in sundries that included 43 alone in wides.

In reply, only two Karnali batters Yamuna Tharu (13) and Kiran Kunwar (10) were able to score in double figures for Karnali. Sweta Subedi and skipper Bina Thapa scored four runs each, while seven others failed to open their accounts.

Player-of-the-match Kritika Marasini (3-11) and Madhu DC (3-5) shared six wickets between them, while Sushmita Bhusal grabbed 2-10 for Lumbini Province.
