APF, NPC register win in National Women’s Football League

KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) recorded a 2-1 win over departmental rival Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in the Super League round of the 16th National Women’s Football League under the NSC Championship on Tuesday.

Anita KC and Anita Basnet netted one goal each for APF to produce the second consecutive victory in the Super League. Krishna Khatri scored consolation for TAC.

With a win over TAC, APF has strengthened its chance of winning the competition as it has acquired six points from two matches. Likewise, TAC and Nepal Police Club (NPC) have two points each.

In the match played at ANFA Complex Ground, Satdobato, TAC took a lead with Khatri’s goal in the 17th minute. But APF made a comeback in the second half with KC and Basnet finding the net in 50th and 83rd minutes respectively.

Meanwhile, in the day’s first match, NPC produced 1-0 victory over Far-western Region 1-0. Rupa Magar scored the only goal of the match in the 31st minute.

The last day of the league on Thursday will see TAC taking on Far-western Region and APF competing against NPC respectively.
