APF, TSC, CYC all secure victories

KATHMANDU: APF Mahindra Football Team, Three Star Club and Chyasal Youth Club have registered victories during their Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu, on Sunday.

APF defeated Saraswoti Youth Club 3-0, Three Star edged Jawalakhel Youth Club 2-0 and Valley CYC beat NIBL Friends Club 3-1, today.

APF's Rup Bahadur Lama scored twice and Yubraaj Khadka notched a goal to give a comfortable victory to their team over SYC at the ANFA Complex Ground.

Lama scored in the 17th and 88th minute whereas Khadka struck in the 42nd minute of the game. Later, APF's Lama was awarded man of the match for his match-winning performance and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000.

In another game today, Patan-based Three Star Club rode on Ranjit Dhimal's performance to edged Jawalakhel Youth Club 2-0 at the ANFA Complex ground in Satdobato.

Dhimal scored twice, first from a penalty spot in the 52nd minute and another from a dead ball situation in the 70th minute. Dhimal was awarded man of the match for his scintillating performance.

Similarly, in another game of the day, Valley CYC thrashed NIBL Friends Club 3-1 at the APF Ground in Halchowk. CYC Santa Bahadur Tamang broke the deadlock in the 11th minute before FC's Bikash Lama equalised with a wonderful strike in the 19th minute of the game.

However, in the second half, Devendra Tamang gave CYC a lead from a penalty spot in the 54th minute and Hemanta Thapa Magar struck in the 68th minute to secure a two-goal cushion over FC. Later, CYC's Tshiring Gurung was adjudged man of the match.

In tomorrow's game, Tribhuvan Army Club will take on Brigade Boys Club in early kickoff while the league leader Manang Marsyangdi Club will square off against Machhindra Club in the late kickoff.

Meanwhile, MMC lead the 14-team table on 18 points from six matches and NRT sit at the bottom of the table with a solitary point from seven matches.
