Arsenal beat Bolton

London, April 15:

Arsenal ended a four-match winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Bolton on Saturday in the Premier League, keeping the Gunners in fourth place. Tomas Rosicky and Cesc Fabregas scored for Arsenal after Nicolas Anelka’s 11th-minute goal for Bolton.

Arsenal has 59 points in fourth place — the final Champions League spot. Bolton remains fifth with 54 points. Manchester United leads the league with 78 points, three ahead of Chelsea. The Gunners could even finish one spot higher after third-place Liverpool drew 0-0 with Manchester City to move to 61 points.

Anelka scored against his former club with a left-footed volley. Rosicky leveled in the 31st minute before Fabregas scored Arsenal’s winner in the 46th minute.

Also Saturday, it was: Middlesbrough 1, Aston Villa 3; Portsmouth 2, Newcastle 1; Reading 1, Fulham 0; and Sheffield United 3, West Ham 0.

In the FA Cup, Manchester United reached its 17th final with a 4-1 win over Watford. Wayne Rooney scored two goals and set up another for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rooney scored with an angled shot from 20 yards to give Man United the lead in the seventh minute. Hameur Bouazza equalized for Watford in the 26th with a shot deflected in by United defender Gabriel Heinze, but Rooney set up Ronaldo for United’s second in the 28th. Alan Smith then crossed for Rooney to sidefoot in his second goal in the 66th, and Kieran Richardson made it 4-1 in the 82nd.
