Arunodaya School beat Tri-Jyoti

LALITPUR: Arunodaya High School defeated Tri-Jyoti High School 2-0 in the Group H match of the Coca-Cola Inter-school National Football Tournament qualifiers here on Friday.

At the ANFA Technical Centre in Chyasal, Niroj Magar put Arunodaya ahead in the 25th minute, while Bijay Lama doubled the lead in the 40th minute.

In the Group E matches held at the Sanogaucharan grounds in Kathmandu, Bright Horizon Children Home, Sharada Higher Secondary School, Nepal Rastriya Nirman HS School and Shramik Shanti HS School registered wins.

In the first match, Bright Horizon thrashed Mount SEB School 8-0. Yuvraj

Rasaili struck a hat-trick scoring in the 22nd, 40th and 65th minutes, while Bidhyaman Tamang struck twice in the 44th and 47th minutes. Umesh Bhandari, Kamba Singh and Karma Paljor scored one each for Bright Horizon.

Also, Sharada School scored all the goals in the second half in their 4-0 win over Kathmandu Vidhya Mandir. After a goalless 40-minute first half, Raju Chauhan opened the scoring in the 45th minute and Rajesh Chhetry doubled the tally in the 63rd minute before Johny Singh (69th) and Rajesh Thapa (70th) put the issue beyond doubt.

In the third match, Nepal Rastriya Nirman beat Tangal High School 2-0 on goals from Shiva Nembang and Kusum Lama. Nepal Rastriya Nirman took lead through a 12th-minute goal from Shiva, while Kusum doubled the tally in the 58th minute.

In the day’s last match, Shramik Shanti defeated Pacific Academy 3-0. Arun Pakhrin scored in the 14th minute to give Shramik Shanti the 1-0 first-half lead. Saral Lama doubled the scores in the 56th minute and Badri Alam sealed the victory in the 68th minute.
