DHANGADHI: Bagmati Youth Club defeated APF Football Club 1-0 and advanced to the quarter-finals of the sixth Chief Minister Sudurpashchim Khaptad Gold Cup here at the Dhangadhi Stadium on Thursday.
Anil Rana Magar scored the solitary goal of the match in the fourth minute.
Bagmati will face Manang Marshyangdi Club for a place in the last four. On Friday, FC Khumaltar will take on Avenir FC. A total of 10 teams are taking part in the biggest knockout football tournament of mofussil in terms of cash prizes. Top two teams will receive Rs 2.1 million and one million rupees respectively.
Earlier, Sudurpashchim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shahi inaugurated the tournament organised by Sudurpashchim Sports Club.
