Kathmandu, January 13:

KATHMANDU: Balaju Karate Do finished first with 12 gold, eight bronze and eight silver medals at the first Nationwide Inter-dojo Karate Championship organised by Balaju Karate Do Academy here on Sunday.

Dang district came second with three gold, one silver and three bronze medals, while Makawanpur finished third with two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

The top three teams got Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 12,500 respectively. Raju Shrestha of Dang and Shova Lama of Chitwan (junior) and Nabin Karki of Solukhumbu and Krishna Regmi of Balaju (senior) were adjudged the best fighters.

A total of 525 players took part in 20 weight categories.
