KATHMANDU: Laxman Basnet won the bronze medal at the 18th Senior and 13th Junior ITF World Taekwondo Championship in Brighton, England on Thursday. Competing in the veteran 64kg weight category, Laxman defeated Ireland’s player 5-2 before losing 4-2 against Polish opponent 4-2 in semi-finals. Basnet, the first player to win international ITF medal in 2004, is also the president of Nepal ITF, international coach and referee. A total of four players are taking part in the championship. Sasman Basnet, Ghana Shyam Acharya Khatri and Raghunath Khatri will play their matches on Friday.
