MADRID: Karim Benzema has been dropped from Real Madrid’s squad for Sunday’s away match at Malaga in the Spanish league. Spanish media reports indicate Benzema picked up an injury during practice on Saturday.

Coach Zinedine Zidane has called Borja Mayoral to fill the his place.

Madrid trails leader Barcelona by 10 points in third place, one point behind second-place Atletico Madrid.

Benzema has scored 19 goals in as many matches this season.
