Bikash Running Shield from today

The 12th edition of the Tuborg Bikash Running Shield Football Tournament is beginning here at the Campachaur grounds in Narayangarh from Monday.
A total of 15 teams including four from India are taking part in the knockout tournament which is being held after 16 years, informed the organisers at a press meet today. “All the preparations for the tournament are over and we are ready for the kick off,” said the Press and Publicity Committee convenor Siddhartha Lal Chuke. “We have also prepared a temporary parapet for 3,000 spectators,” he added.
United Club Siwan, United Kurseong Football Club, Apex Football Club of Kalimpong and Sikkim-XI from India will join Nepali ‘A’ division outfits Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Jhapa-XI and Nepal APF Club along with Chitawan-XI, Himalayan Youth Club of Kailali, Morang Football Club, Sankata Club, Sahara Club of Pokhara and Himalayan Sherpa Club.
The winners will receive a cheque of Rs 300,000, while the runners-up will bag a purse of Rs 150,000. The player-of-the-tournament and fair play team will receive Rs 25,000 apiece, while the highest scorer will get Rs 15,000. Likewise, the man-of-the-match in all the games will be awarded with Rs 10,000 each. The organisers have estimated the budget of Rs 6.7 million for the tournament.
