PHIDIM: Birta United Club of Jhapa advanced to the final of the eighth Mechi Netralaya Falgunanda Gold Cup with a 6-0 thumping win over hosts Phidim Sporting Club on Thursday.

Bikesh Limbu scored a brace, while Karna Limbu, Devendra Tamang, Buddha Chemjong and Yogesh Gurung netted one each for the winning side. Bikesh opened the scoring in the third minute before Karna doubled the tally in the 13th minute. Devendra extended the lead in the 27th minute to go into the break with a comfortable 3-0 advantage.

In the second half, Bikesh scored his second goal of the match in the first minute, while Buddha made it 5-0 in the 66th minute and man-of-the-match Yogesh competed the rout two minutes later. On Friday, Karna Singh Sonam Memorial Club of Taplejung will take on Eleven Arrows of Sunsari in the second semi-final match.
