Karki claims Pepsi Open

Kathmandu, July 8

Col Bishnu Karki won the title of the second Pepsi Open Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

Played under stableford ¾ handicap format, the 11-handicap amateur golfer Karki accumulated 39 points to claim the trophy. Karki scored 18 points on the first nine and added 21 on the latter half. Mukti Sen Gurung came second with 38 points.

Maj Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi won the gross section award with 31 points. Rekha Ghimire bagged the women’s category title with 38 points, while Devasri RL Rana finished second with 37 points. Likewise, Madan Rana claimed the senior category award with 35 points, whereas Maj Mani Prasad Rai bagged the super senior section trophy with 31 points.

Likewise, Shashwat Pradhan won the junior section title with 17 points, finishing ahead of Arnav Shah who scored 15 points.

Mukti Sen Gurung claimed the most birdies award with two birdies, while Phuntsok N Lama and Hridesh Kumar Singh won the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively.

A total of 79 golfers, including 10 women and four junior players, took part in the event. Territory Marketing Head of Varun Beverages Nepal Pvt Ltd Nishi Lama, RNGC President Rabindra Man Shrestha and Captain NK Rai handed over prizes.
