KATHMANDU: Bluebird College recorded second straight victory to advance to the semi-finals of the second Patriots Cup Inter-college T20 Cricket Tournament here at the Mulpani grounds on Monday.
Bluebird defeated Texas International College by 37 runs and accumulated four points to make it to the last four as Group A winners. Texas (two) and Brilliant (zero) crashed out from the tournament.
Batting first, Bluebird posted 101-8 in a match which was reduced to 12-over-a-side due to rain, while Texas reached 64-6 in reply. Nirbhik Pathak top scored for Bluebird with 25 runs, while Dipak Dumre (25) and Raonim Tiwari (17) chipped in valuable runs. Player-of-the-match Prem Shahi took 5-11 from three overs for Texas. Shahi was the top scorer for Texas with 16, while Prashant Khawash remained unbeaten on 13 runs.
Another match between KFA Business College Vs Kathmandu Model College was washed out and the teams shared one point each. Kathmandu University have already advanced to the semis as Group C winners.
