KATHMANDU: Bishal Milan Kendra defeated Southsiders Basketball Club 70-61 in the Kwik’s Basketball League on Friday.

Southsiders took the first quarter 23-11 but BMK bounced back strongly to win the remaining three periods 21-18, 12-8 and 26-12 to complete the comprehensive win. BMK’s Bikash Gurung netted 32 points and Bibek Shrestha added 15 points. Southsiders’ Rabin Gautan contributed 24 points and Subrat Rajopadhyaya netted 10 points.

With the win, BMK accumulated 24 points from 10 matches and moved to second position behind unbeaten Tribhuvan Army Club (27). Southsiders, who have only six points, are out of the playoff race. — HNS
