Bodybuilder Maharjan wins silver medal

Nepali bodybuilder Nanita Maharjan won silver medal in the ninth WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia today.

Maharjan, who had bagged bronze medal in the eighth edition of the championship in Thailand last year in her debut international competition, finished third in the women’s 160cm athletic physiques category this time around. Mongolia and Italy bodybuilders won gold and bronze medals respectively in the event competed among four contestants.

A total of three Nepali bodybuilders had taken part in the event. Rujesh Shahi won bronze medal in the men’s 60kg weight category, while Kamal Bhandari was knocked out from the pre-judging round in the 55kg section.
