Braga stay unbeaten, near top in Portugal
LISBON: Braga stayed undefeated this season after beating Boavista 3-0 at home on Sunday in the Portuguese league.
Egypt striker Ahmed Hassan opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Pedro Santos added a second-half penalty and Santos then set up Wilson Eduardo for a third goal.
Braga's third win in four rounds left it level with defending champion Benfica at two points behind leader Sporting Lisbon. FC Porto is another point adrift.
Also, Rio Ave won 1-0 at Maritimo from Helder Guedes' goal shortly before halftime.
Setubal was held 0-0 at promoted Chaves, while Estoril drew 0-0 at Pacos Ferreira.
Sporting kept the lead after beating Moreirense 3-0 Saturday.
