Budha Subba Gold Cup next month in Dharan

Dharan Football Club is organising the 20th Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament from February 3-10 at the Dharan Stadium in Dharan.

“The purpose of the event is to put pressure on government to declare Dharan as the capital of Province No 1 and build  Eastern Regional Stadium in Dharan,” said Dharan FC President Kishor Rai  at a press meet today.

A total of 10  teams — Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Laxmi Hyundai Manang  Marshyangdi Club, CMG Club Sankata, Ruslan Three Star Club, Nepali U-19  national team, hosts Dharan FC, Dhanamondi Club of  Bangladesh and Garifa Sporting Club of India — will compete in the event.

The  winners and runners-up will take home Rs 500,000 and Rs 251,000  respectively, while the best player of the tournament will get a Yamaha  motorbike. Similarly, the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder,  striker, coach, highest scorer and the rising player will be  awarded with Rs 25,000 each, while the player-of-the-match will get Rs  10,000.
