Budhathoki wins javelin throw gold

KATHMANDU: Rajan Budhathoki of Amar Singh Higher Secondary School win the U-13 javelin throw gold medal held for the visually impaired (partially) during the 14th Inter-school National Special Games at the Dasharath Stadium today.

Keshav Raj Bikram claimed silver and Rupak Aryal clinched bronze medal in the event. Chhiring Dolkar won the girls high jump held among the hearing impaired athletes. Laxmi Maharjan and Sarada Thapa earned silver and bronze respectively.

Sarada Thapa, Rima Shrestha and Dapasang Sherpa claimed the top three spots in the girls’ shotput for the hearing impaired athletes. Mangal Mukhiya, Basanta Thapa and Dinesh Chaudhary did so in the boys’ section. Anil Chaudhary won the boys’ U-13 high jump gold medal. Man Bahadur Chaudhary finished second and Pramod Chaudhary third in the event held for the visually impaired athletes.

Sharmila Lamichhane won the soft ball throw competition held among the mentally-challenged girls aged between 12 to 15 years old. Bini Shakya and Yangji Sherpa claimed silver and bronze medal respectively.

Radhika Thapa, Suvadra Thapa and Punyeswori Shrestha claimed the top three positions in the mentally-challenged girls’ U-16 long jump competition. Bhima Karki won the physically-challenged girls’ U-14 javalin throw gold medal. Maiya Bishankhe and Chandika Lamichhane finished second and third respectively.

Muna Aryal claimed 100m race held for visually impaired girls. Aryal was followed by Kushum Chaudhary and Sabitri Poudel.
