LAMJUNG: Defending champions BYC defeated Triveni Youth Club 2-1 in extra time in the opening match of the 30th Triveni Cup here on Wednesday.
Abagomi netted the winning goal in the sixth minute of the extra time.
Earlier, Sanjog Mahanandar put TYC ahead in the 19th minute, while Sujit Budhathoki of BYC levelled the scores in the 75th minute.
In another match, Abdel Bahemone scored the solitary goal as RODS beat Lamjung Manang Youth Club 1-0. With the wins, holders BYC and RODS made it to the quarter-finals.
