Bydgoszcz named

PARIS: The Polish city of Bydgoszcz was named as the new venue for the 2016 junior world championships on Thursday, replacing Kazan which was dropped in the wake of the Russian doping scandal. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said that the championships will take place from August 19-24 while the Walking World Cup, originally scheduled for Saransk on May 7 and 8, will be switched to Rome. Russia was suspended from all international athletics competitions in November over accusations of "state-sponsored" doping as the IAAF scrambled to salvage the sport's credibility ahead of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
