Campus Road move atop

CYC Attariya and Campus Road registered victories in the Sagarmatha Cement Dhangadhi Cricket League-3 here on Saturday.

In the matches played at the SSP cricket grounds, Attariya defeated Hasanpur Royals by six wickets, while Campus Road edged past Santoshi Tole by 12 runs. Campus Road are at the top of the table with six points from four matches, while Team Chauraha are second with four ahead of Santosi Tole (four) on better net run rate.

In the first match of the day, Hasanpur Royals were bowled out for 95 runs in 20 overs, while Attariya raced to 97-4 in 14.2 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee top scored for Hasanpur Royals with run-a-ball 32 that included three fours and a six, while Basant Singh Karki made 26 off 31 with two fours and a six. Prakash Thapa scored run-a-ball 16 hitting two fours and a six. Three of their batsmen were out for naught. Surendra Chand was the pick of the Attariya bowlers with the figures of 4-9 from four overs, while Mehboob Alam took two wickets. Binod Bhandari and Prem Tamang claimed a wicket each.

In reply, Alam’s unbeaten half century helped Attariya overcome the target easily. The former national team opener, Alam struck four fours and as many sixes in his fiery 26-ball 50. Prem Tamang scored 12 for Attariya. Dipendra Singh Airee, Prakash Thapa, Amit Padal and Bhim Sharki claimed a wicket apiece for Hasanpur.

In another match, Campus Road scored 133-9 in 20 overs before they restricted Santoshi Tole for 121-9. Chandra Saud top scored for Campus Road with 41 off 35 balls that included five fours and two sixes, while opener Roman Bam made 37 off 20 balls hitting six fours and two sixes. Amit Budha finished with the figure of 4-16 for Santoshi Tole, while Prakash Jung Karki and Mahesh Adhikari grabbed two apiece and Roshan Adhikari took one wicket.

In reply, Santoshi Tole had a good start but Campus Road were able to claim wickets at regular interval. Mahesh Adhikari remained unbeaten on 22 off 21 with two fours, while Raju Rijal top scored for Santoshi Tole with 32 off 30 balls that included four fours. Opener Sunil Dhamala made 26 off 18 with the help of two fours and two sixes. Santosh Bhatt claimed three wickets for Campus Road, while Lalit Singh Bhandari took two. Chandra Saud and Sagar Bhandari grabbed a wicket each.
