CCRC ‘A’ enter second round
Kathmandu, June 23:
Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) ‘A’ and Shanker Dev Campus won their matches at the first CCRC T20 Inter-college Cricket Tournament today.
Hosts CCRC ‘A’ thrashed National Open College (NOC) by 150 runs to enter the second round, while Shanker Dev defeated Thapathali College by 71 runs at the Tribhuvan University Stadium.
Batting first, CCRC ‘A’ scored 178-2 in 20 overs and packed NOC to a meagre 28 in 16 overs. Antim Thapa scored an unbeaten 54 off 40 balls, while Pawan Das made 49-ball 45 and Gyanendra Malla remained unbeaten on 40 off just 20 balls for CCRC ‘A’. Manish Karki (16 not out) was the only NOC batsman to score in double figures. For CCRC ‘A’, man of the match Abhaya Rana returned with the figures of 4-1-6-4, while Raj Shrestha and Amrit Bhattarai took two wickets each.
In the other match, Shanker Dev scored 131-6 and restricted Thapathali to 60 in 17 overs. man of the match Niraj Bhattarai scored 59 off 60 balls, while Rabindra Chand remained unbeaten on 17 and Suman Uday scored 15 for Shanker Dev. For Shanker Dev Campus, Shanker Deo took 3-33 for Thapathali and top-scored with 15 runs. Raman Shrestha and Santosh KC took three wickets each for Shanker Dev.
On Tuesday, it’s: Kathmandu Don Bosco vs Laboratory; and Shanker Dev vs Pulchowk Engineering College.
