KATHMANDU: Nepali national football team goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong joined Hero I-League club Minerva Punjab FC.

Minerva confirmed the joining of Nepali custodian Chemjong for the rest of the season through social networking site twitter. The club did not disclose the amount to be paid to Chemjong.

Minerva are currently leading the standing with 22 points after nine matches of 10-team league. Minerva will face second-placed Neroca (21) on January 27.

Nepali national team’s first choice goalkeeper Chemjong played last season for TC Sports Club of the Maldives. Chemjong, member of the national team that won the AFC Solidarity Cup in 2016, has been capped 50 times.
