Chitwan Rhinos advance into PPL final

KATHMANDU: Chitwan Rhinos defeated Hulas Kathmandu Royals by six-wicket and ten balls to spare in an eliminator match at the Pokhara Stadium on Sunday.

Paras Khadka's Rhinos will play against the home side Sarad Vesawakar's Pokhara Paltan in the title showdown at the Pokhara Stadium on Tuesday.

Royals skipper Gyanendra Malla won the toss and opted to bat first before mustering a meagre 94 run all out in 19.3 overs.

Malla top scored with 30 runs off 35 balls with two hit to the fence and opener Jaykrishna Kolsawal contributed 25 runs while other batsmen failed to score double-digit runs.

Man-of-the-match Sunny Patel was the pick of the bowler with 4-0-9-3. Smit Patel, Bhuwan Karki bagged two wickets each and Karan KC, Paras Khadka chipped in with a wicket each.

In reply, Rhinos made a disastrous start as they lost opener Anil Kumar Sah and skipper Paras Khadka cheaply inside three overs.

At one stage, Rhinos were reeling at 31/3 in 5.5 overs, however, Samit Patel and Aarif Sheikh shared 57-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Patel was trapped leg before by Susan Bhari.

Harisankar Sah contributed 26 runs and Aarif Sheikh remained not out in 20 runs off 32 balls with a boundary.

Susan Bhari scalped three Rhinos wickets while Pawan Sarraf took one wicket but it was too litle left for them to defend in a low scoring game.
