Open Tennis tourney from Sunday
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Lawn Tennis Association is organising the fifth Citizen’s Bank Open Tennis Tournament here at the National Sports Council courts from Sunday.
A total of 150 players will compete in eight categories — men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles, above-35 veteran singles and doubles, and above-45, above-55 and above-65 singles — informed Citizens’ Bank International Limited’s Director as well as All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association General Secretary Manohar Das Mool at a press meet on Thursday.
The winners and runners-up in the singles categories will get Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively, while losing semi-finalists will get Rs 7,500 each.
Likewise, top two in men’s doubles and mixed doubles will earn Rs 24,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively, while losing semi-finalists will earn Rs 6,000 apiece. The top two finishers in the above-35 and above-45 will receive Rs 15,000 and Rs 7,500 respectively.
