Civil Bank Squash C’ship from Tuesday

Nepal Squash Rackets Association is all set to organise the fourth Civil Bank Open Squash Championship at the International Sports Complex courts in Lalitpur from Tuesday.
The championship is being organised to mark the World Squash Day and the event will feature singles events of men, women, veteran as well as boys U-13 and U-19, informed NSRA President Kishor Maharjan at a press meet today. “We have been organising the event to mark the World Squash Day which is celebrated on October 22 and we will hold the final matches on that day,” Maharjan said.
More than 80 players, including 10 British Gurkhas, will take part in the competition that offers a total cash purse of Rs 65,000, informed the organisers. The main sponsor of the championship, Civil Bank will bear all the expenses. Maharjan, who is also Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Bank, said that the championship would cost around Rs 300,000.
The NSRA President Maharjan also informed the formation of the Kaski district body. “We found people playing the sport in Pokhara by constructing the squash court on their own, so we decided to form an executive committee of Kaski chapter,” he added.
