Classic College beat Budhanilkantha

Kathmandu, January 27:

Classic College registered a comprehensive 117-run won over Budhanilkantha and KIST defeated New Summit by 65 runs in the National Campus Twenty20 Inter-college Cricket Tournament here today.

Opting to bat first, Classic scored a massive 186-6 in their allotted 20 overs before dismissing Budhanilkantha for 69 runs in 14.1 overs. Man of the match Pradeep Airee struck an unbeaten 47 off just 20 balls and returned to take 2-14 for Classic. Niraj Pant also contributed 22-ball 39 and Kuldeep Khadka 38 from 20 balls. Binay Bogati, Prashant Thapa and Navin Yadav took one wicket each for Budhanilkantha.

In reply Sameep Subedi top-scored for Budhanilkantha with 11 runs while Samip Thapa and Ashrut Sharma chipped in 10 runs each. Keshav Panta (3-1) and Naresh Buddhayer (3-04) claimed three wickets each for Classic.

In another game, KIST scored 134-4 and restricted New Summit for 69 runs in 15.3 overs. Bipul Bhattarai scored 46 not out from 59 balls for KIST while Nikhil Acharya made 25 and Dewakar Panta 15. Sujan Thapa, Sabin Panta and Ratish Shrestha claimed one wicket each for New Summit.

Nishant Gadtaula scored the highest 18 runs for New Summit before being bowled out for 69 in the 16th over. Ratish Shrestha and Sambidhan Baidhya made 13 runs each. Man of the match Nikhil Acharya took 4-10 from 1.3 overs while Santosh Shrestha took two and Bikash Nakarma one wicket for KIST.

The game between KIST and New Summit was just a formality as Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) have already advanced to the semi-finals from Group ā€˜Cā€™ with all three wins in three matches.
