Sankata win Tilottama Gold Cup

CMG Club Sankata came from a goal down to beat Tribhuvan Army Club 2-1 in the final of the 19th Tilottama Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the ANFA Technical Centre grounds in Devi Nagar today.
Nirajan Khadka netted both goals for Sankata after Rajiv Gurung had put TAC ahead in the 30th minute. Khadka scored the equaliser in the injury time of first half and netted the match-winning goal in the 85th minute.
This is the third title of the season for Sankata. They had won Bikash Running Shield in Chitwan and Simara Gold Cup in Simara. Sankata had defeated TAC on both the occasions. Champions Sankata earned Rs 555,555, while runners-up TAC received Rs 333,333. Rupandehi-XI goalie Dilip Chhetri was named the best player of the tournament and received a scooter.
Sankata’s Binay Shrestha got the best goal keeper’s award and Nirajan Khadka was named the best midfielder. TAC’s Hiranya Magar was adjudged the best defender and Deep Lama was the highest scorer. The individual prize winners got Rs 15,000 each. Sankata’s Salyan Khadgi took the best coach award and earned Rs 20,000.
