KATHMANDU: The second CoAS Girls Taekwondo Tournament began at the Bijeshwori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidhyalaya here on Sunday.

A total of 201 players from 28 schools and dojangs are taking  part in the three-day tournament that features 13 weight categories in  kyorugi and two in poomsae, informed the organisers in a release.

The  event offers a total of 17 each gold and silver medals and 34 bronze  medals. Apart from top three teams, the best players in junior and  senior sections will also be awarded with trophies.

President of  Nepalese Army Wives Association, Dipa Thapa inaugurated the tournament  on Sunday, while Chief of the Army Staff Gen Purna Chandra Thapa is  scheduled to grace the closing ceremony.
