KATHMANDU: Three R Business Inc Pvt Ltd is organising the first Chesung Wine Corporate Futsal Tournament here on Saturday. A total of 16 teams will participate in the one-day tournament. The top three teams and individual best players will receive gift hampers from Dhulikhel Resort, Hotel Shangri-La, Air Asia, Bandipur Mountain Resort and Buddha Air apart from trophies and certificates, informed the organisers.

England to face Pak

LONDON: England’s away series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates has been finalised. The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed on Thursday that the series will include three Tests, four one-day internationals and three Twenty20s in October and November. The first Test will take place in Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium between October 13-17, with the second at the Dubai Cricket Stadium starting five days later and the final Test at Sharjah Cricket Club from November 1-5.

FINA removes limits

KAZAN: The International Swimming Federation has removed age and term limits for its most senior officials, enabling Julio Maglione to run for a third term as president. Delegates from 139 of more than 200 member states voted by majority for the moves on Thursday at the FINA congress in Kazan, where the world championships open Friday. Maglione, of Uruguay, will be 81 when he is expected to win another four-year term in 2017. The rule had prevented anyone older than 80 in the FINA Bureau from being elected. Also approved was a rule stating that president, first vice-president and treasurer may be elected for a maximum three terms in same post.

Jumper Flanders dies

ANKARA: Organisers and media reports say American base jumper Ian Flanders has died in a parachute accident during a nature sports festival in eastern Turkey. Flanders plunged into a river and died when his parachute ropes got wrapped around his legs during a jump from the Karanlik canyon in Turkey’s Erzincan province on July 21. His body was pulled out of the Karasu river, a tributary of the Euphrates, by rescue boats and taken to the Erzincan state hospital morgue. The 37-year-old, had leapt from an altitude of some 2,500 meters when the accident occurred. The Erzincan Municipality said the International Nature and Culture Festival was canceled because of Flanders’ death.
