Dali helps KKM ground Yeti Airlines
Kathmandu, January 31:
Kathmandu Khel Mandal (KKM) defeated Yeti Airlines by two wickets in the final of the Shyam Chaitanya Baba Memorial sixth Wai Wai Winter Trophy Cricket Tournament, organised by Lalitpur Cricket Associaion, here at TU Stadium today.
Batting first, Yeti Airlines accumulated 172 runs losing eight wickets in their allotted 40 overs. Paresh Lohani top-scored with 44 off 49 balls, while Binod Das hit two fours in his 37-ball 30 and Subash Khakurel scored 15.
For KKC, Sanjam Regmi took 2-2 and was ably suported by Niraj Basnet (2-35). Lakpa Lama, Dhirendra Chand and Raj Kumar Pradhan pocketed one wicket each. In reply, KKM overcame the target losing eight wickets with eight balls to spare, riding on Bikash dali’s half century. Dali hit six fours in his 88-ball 62. Lakpa lama scored 43 off 68 including four boundaries.
For Yeti, Binod Das took 3-30, while Raju Basnet grabbed 2-24 and Prasunna Baidya and Dhirendra Chand pocketed one each. KKM earned Rs 15,000 and Yeti Airlines got Rs 7,000.
Bikash Dali was named the man of the match, while Rakesh Singh won the man of the series award. Other winners were Chhochen Lama )best fielder), Dhirendra Chand (best bowler), Dipen Shrestha (best batsman), Subash Khakurel (best wicketkeeper), and Mehboob Alam (the highest scorer with 152 runs).
