Danfe Club in semi-finals

Biratnagar, January 13:

Danfe Cricket Club defeated Knight Chess Club by 37 runs in the quarter-finals of the Chandra Khaki Memorial Inter-club Cricket Tournament, which has been jointly organised by NepalCricket Fan Club and The Touch Stone, here today.

Batting first after winning the toss, Danfe Club were bowled out for 178 runs in 30.4 overs of the 35-over-a-side match. In reply, Knight Chess were packed for 141 runs in 30 overs.

Anish Aryal top-scored for Danfe with 64 runs that included four fours, while Gautam Thakur hit a six in his 39 and Ram Bhandari contributed 30 runs. For Knight Chess Club, Pasang Lama, Suresh Guragain and Kishor Lama took two wickets each.

For Knight Chess Club, former international Lakpa Lama made the highest of 21 runs, whereas Sunny Pun and Sunil Bista scored 20 and 18 runs respectively. Amar Singh Pun took four wickets for Danfe Club, while Abhisekh Jha and Ram Bhandari pocketed two each. Pun was named the man of the match.

In Sunday’s quarter-finals, The Touch Stone will play Tribeni Club.
