LALITPUR: Nisha Darnal of Nepal Police Club won women's 18-22yrs section gold medal in the first National Open Taekwondo Poomsae Tournament on Saturday.
Tribhuvan Army Club's Swastika Tamang claimed silver, while NPC's Monika Ramtel and Jainav Khatun bagged bronze medals. NPC duo Yubaraj Rana and Asmin Raut won gold and silver medals respectively in men's section, while Ram Gole and Laxman Gole, also from NPC, came third.
Likewise, Shreejal Shrestha of Godavari Fitness and TAC's Poornima Basnet won gold medals in 15-18yrs section, while Sajan Tamang of Nuwakot and Sargam Thapa of Godavari finished first in 12-15yrs category. In 10-12yrs section, Nirab Maharjan of Godavari and Shrishti Syangbo of Newgen won gold medals. A total of 743 players are taking part in the twoday event organised by Nepal Taekwondo Association.
