Das guides CCRC to win
Kathmandu, January 15:
Pawan Das scored a scintillating century to guide Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) to a comprehensive 105-run victory over Kathmandu Media on the opening day of the Twenty20 Open Knockout Cricket Tournament here today.
Batting first, CCRC scored 177-3 in the allotted 20 overs with man of the match Das making unbeaten 102 off 69 deliveries. Kedar Pokharel chipped in with not out 34 from 29 balls. Nitesh Karki took two wickets and Hussain claimed one for Kathmandu Media. In reply, Kathmandu Media were all out for 72. Hussain top scored with 17 runs for Kathmandu Media.
In another match, SS Style beat Cannon Club by 22 runs. Put into bat first, SS Style made 114-4 with Bijay Bastakoti completing a half century (53). Babu Das and Suraj bagged two wickets each for Cannon Club.
Chasing 115 runs, Cannon were bundled out for 97 in 16 overs. Gokul contributed the highest 18 runs for Cannon. Man of the match Bastakoti claimed three wickets while Ashim Thapa and Kedar took two wickets each for SS Style.
In all, 19 teams are taking part in the tournament jointly organised by Excel Business Link and Fashion Link. Everest College will take on Everest Casino and World Trade Center will face Vijaya Smarak College in Wednesday’s matches.
