Dauphins Club Family of Cameroon thrashed Tribhuvan Army Club 4-1 in the quarter-finals of the sixth Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Cup Football Tournament here at the Pokhara Stadium today.

Dauphins, who started their Nepal journey with defeat in the Nepal Ice Farwest Khaptad Gold Cup, sent the departmental side — which fielded their second-string team in the match — packing from the first match.

Yannick Obona scored a brace, while Armel Ahanda and Oka Bota netted one each goal for the Cameroon side. Sanjeeb Moktan scored the consolation goal for the TAC. Obona opened the scoring for Dauphins in the first half injury time when he netted an easy goal following a long pass from defender Ikum.

The visitors dominated the game in the second half and slotted home three goals, while TAC managed to pull one back. Obona doubled the tally in the 60th minute with his second goal of the match utilizing a pass from Dider Tina, while Ahanda extended the lead nine minutes later after he dodged as many as two defenders before slotting home.

Dauphins made it 4-0 in the injury time when Bota netted another goal for the visiting side before TAC’s substitute player Moktan scored the consolation goal for the team moments before the final whistle. Dauphins’ Yannick was named the man of the match.

On Tuesday, Rissho University team of Japan will take on Nepal Police Club in the third quarter-final match of the tournament organised by Kaski District Football Association under the sponsorship of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd.
