KATHMANDU: Nepali taekwondo referee Dipendra Dhakal has been promoted to second class international referee in Kyorugi category.
The referee committee of the World Taekwondo promoted the Tribhuvan Army Club referee Dhakal, who was third class international referee for the last four years. Dhakal was promoted on the basis of his performance in the ranking tournaments and refresher's course.
He stood in eight ranking tournaments in the last four years and also attended two refresher's courses. He had obtained the referee license from the 104th international taekwondo referee seminar in China.
The first Nepali international referee to acquire the license from TAC, the fourth-DAN black belt holder Dhakal has been working as taekwondo coach at the Army School in Bhaktapur.
