London, July 3:

England and Australia tied the Triangular Series final at Lord’s here on Saturday. Set 197 to win, England collapsed to 33/5 inside 10 overs thanks to accurate pace bowling from Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath. But a sixth-wicket stand of 116 between Paul Colli-ngwood (53) and Geraint Jones (71) nearly took England to an improbable win. Needing 10 runs off the last over, England required three runs off the last ball with one wicket standing saw Ashley Giles (20 not out) scramble two for a tie. England finished on 196/9. Earlier, England bowled out Australia for 196, quicks Andrew Flintoff (3-23) and Stephen Harmison (3-27) doing the bulk of the damage. Australia struggled, going 28 balls without scoring, with Michael Hussey’s unbeaten 62 the only score above 29. England and Australia now play three separate ODIs before the first of a five-Test Ashes series begins at Lord’s on July 22.
