European football’s craze in Nepal

Kathmandu, June 14:

English Premiere League came to an end with some interesting results. Champions league too ended with a nail biting finale — AC Milan emerging victorious over Liverpool. Inter Milan captured the crown in Italian Serie A. Defending champions Barcelona and Real Madrid are still fighting for the La Liga title until the end.

Manchester United won the Premier League, but the win wasn’t an easy one as the competition between the defending champions Chelsea and the Red Devils had gone till the last round.

Champions League too had its own drama, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and AC Milan making to the semi-finals. Known as the best tournament, top teams across Europe get to fight for the title.

In the meantime Euro 2008 is approaching and fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for it. The news and results of the qualifiers are everywhere and Nepali football lovers are no exception to it. The Euro 2008 atmosphere has attracted fans towards European football. It’s early yet to be discussing about Euro Cup but fans here have already begun their pre-tournament gossip.

Nepali fans have keen interest in European football and Carlsberg has announced a scheme for them — Win a football trip to Liverpool. The winner will get an all-paid trip to watch a Liverpool match at Anfield.

The winner will also get an opportunity to present the Carlsberg man of the match award of that particular game at Anfield.
