Finn Mixu appointed
GLASGOW: Struggling Dundee United on Wednesday announced that Finn Mixu Paatelainen has been appointed as the new head coach of the club. A former player at Tannadice between 1987 and 1992, Paatelainen scored 47 times in 173 appearances and is a member of the club’s hall of fame. As a coach he took charge of the Finnish national side for four years and has had spells with other Scottish club sides — Kilmarnock, Hibernian and Cowdenbeath. Paatelainen succeeds Jackie McNamara as boss of the Tannadice club currently sitting bottom of the Premier League table. McNamara was sacked on September 28 after United had taken just five points from nine matches.
