PHIDIM: Karna Singh Sonam Memorial Club of Taplejung advanced to the semi-finals of the seventh Falgunanda Gold Cup Football Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Birtamod United of Jhapa here on Monday.

Birtamod took an early lead through Buddha Chemjong’s goal in the seventh minute, while Taplejung levelled the scores when Segun Ethiyo scored in the 74th minute.

Bijay Dhimal scored the winning goal for Taplejung in third minute of injury time. Rejin Dhimal of Taplejung was named the man-of-the-match.
