Gaal slams Loew

BERLIN: Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has criticised Germany coach Joachim Loew for calling a four-day training session this weekend to start preparing for the World Cup.

Van Gaal said the training camp would disrupt the Bundesliga clubs' preparations for their upcoming games. The Bayern coach said on Friday in Munich that "I think it is crazy," adding that "it's not normal." Loew rejected the criticism, saying the session had long been planned by the German football federation. Five members of the German squad play for Bayern, including striker Miroslav Klose and captain Philipp Lahm. The training session begins on Sunday.
