GHCA team to go to Bangladesh

Kathmandu, May 16

The U-17 team of Great Himalaya Cricket Academy (GHCA) is on Tuesday leaving for Bangladesh to play a friendly series with Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP).

The teams are scheduled to play five 50-over matches with BKSP from May 19-26. “This is home-and-away series and the Bangladeshi team will travel to Nepal later this year to play the series,” said team manager Sudeep Sharma, who is also the Director of GHCA. Sharma informed that all the matches will be played at the BKSP institute grounds and the hosts would also provide logistic support to the Nepali team.

National cricket team coach Jagat Tamatta and skipper Paras Khadka bade farewell to the team. Skipper Khadka wished luck to the team and asked the players to make most of the tour. “You must give hundred per cent and come in the winning colors. You will be representing Nepal in the tour and we expect to see you in the national team in due course,” he said. “This tour will enhance your skill and provide exposure for higher level,” Khadka added. Coach Tamatta lauded GHCA for providing the young players with such opportunity. “I hope this experience will help you become a better player.”

Bishal Babu Adhikari will lead the squad that includes Yogesh Kumar Bhat, Umesh Chand, Rabindra Jung Shahi,  Bisank Subedi, Govinda Prasad Acharya, Avishek Basnet, Anup Shrestha, Palden Lama, Roshan Adhikari, Rosesh Pandey, Raunak Dhungana, Sushant Singh Thapa, Manish Singh, Pawan Gurung and Navaraj Ghimire. Samson Jung Thapa is the head coach, while Prakash Chand Thakuri is assistant coach.
