Girls’ cricket tourney begins

Tribhuvan Secondary School and Janaki School registered wins in the inaugural-day matches of the Girls Cricket Tournament organised for the first time in Nepal, in Banke’s Kohalpur and Nepalgunj. The event was inaugurated by 96-year-old Kaushala Rawal.
In the match played at the proposed international cricket ground at Kohalpur, Paradeshiya Chaudhary top-scored with unbaten 38 runs as Tribhuvan School 76 runs losing eight wickets in 15 overs. In reply, Green Peace School scored 76 runs in 15 overs and the match was tied. However, Tribhuvan School was declared the winner after the toss. In an earlier match, Janaki Secondary School scored 98 runs in 14.2 overs, in reply to Gyanodaya Secondary School 97.
