Golden Gate, NCC in last four

Golden Gate College and Nepal Commerce Campus entered the semi-finals of the Sponsor University Cricket Cup Twenty20 Tournament here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.
Golden Gate thrashed K&K College by 115 runs, while NCC saw off Sahid Smarak College by 23 runs in the day’s quarter-final matches.
Put into bat first, Golden Gate posted 205-8 and packed K&K for 90 runs in 17.5 overs.
Prashanna Shakya top scored for Golden Gate with 14-ball 38 hitting four boundaries and three sixes, while Bijay Gautam and Suman Uday scored 36 runs each. Indra Kamal Manandhar (29) and Rabin Joshi (20) also scored in double figures.
In reply, Amrit KC scored 20 and Ritesh Adhikari contributed 13 for K&K.
In another match, Lokendra Chand’s unbeaten 19-ball 42 guided NCC to 141-9. Chand hit three boundaries and as many sixes. In reply, Bishwash Shrestha top scored 38 off 35 balls with the help of three boundaries before Sahid Smarak managed 118-8.
NCC will play against Golden Gate, while TU Central Campus meet Shankar Dev Campus in Monday’s semi-final matches.
