Kathmandu, March 13:

Golden Gate Club defeated Xavier International College ‘B’ 4-3 in tie breaker to win the Hilbert Inter-college Football Tournament here at the Sanogaucharan grounds on Friday.

The match was decided on penalties after a goalless 70-minute. In the tie breaker, Suman Khadka, Dinesh Thapa Magar, Naresh Pokhrel and Jagjeet Shrestha scored for Golden Gate, while Ujjwol Thapa, Susan Lama and Subash Gurung converted for Xavier. Sabindra Shrestha and Ramesh Katuwal of Xavier missed their spots kicks. Golden Gate earned Rs 30,000 and Xavier received Rs 15,000.

Earlier, the hosts Hilbert ‘B’ defeated Bishwo Niketan 1-0 in the third-place playoff match. ANFA Vice President Karma Chhiring Sherpa and Treasurer Birat Jung Shahi gave away prizes to the winners.
