Golfers off to India

KATHMANDU: A three-member Nepali golf team on Saturday left for India to participate in the 115th Amateur Golf Championship slated for December 14-20 at the Classic Golf Resort in Gurgaon. Top seeded players Arun Tamang and Tanka Karki will take part in the prestigious amateur golf tournament of India, while manager Chandra Kumar Rai accompanied the players to New Delhi. Member Secretary of NSC Keshab Kumar Bista and General Secretary of Nepal Golf Association bade farewell to the team amidst a programme at the Gokarna Golf Club. Young golfer Prithivi Malla will also participate in the tournament through private entry as Indian Golf Union invited only top two players for the event.
