Goodwill rally for Three Star

Saugal Area Reform Committe is organising a Goodwill Rally on Saturday for the success of Three Star Club who will be participating in the forthcoming AFC President’s Cup Football Tournament to be held in Kathmandu from May 4-14. The rally will start from Saugal in Patan and go through Chalanchhe, Sundhara, Oku-bahal, Thaina, Chakrabahil, Haugal, Ikhalakhu, Purnachandi, Gabahal, Pimbahal, Nakabahil, Kwalkhu, Kumbheshwor, Kobahal, Mangalbazaar, Hakha and will end at Saugal, said the organisers at a press meet today. “We are expecting more than 4,000 participants in the rally,” said the organisers. Convenor of Rally Organising Committee Ram Krishna Chitrakar, members Yogendra Gopal Baidya and Deepak Baidya, and president of Jyapu Society Chhiribabu Maharjan expressed their views on the occasion. Three Star Club, who won the Martyrs’ Memorial National League last year, will represent Nepal in the tournament along with other seven teams from ‘C’ category countries of Asia — Bhutan, Tajikistan, Chinese Taipei, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Cambodia. Meanwhile, club officials said that the club was playing a friendly match with Mahendra Police Club at Nepal Police Academy on Friday. Both of their matches played earlier ended in draws.
